FANTASTIC RUN AROUND
BAMBURI FOREST TRAILS

Coastweek - - Another near record pack turned out for an interesting trail in the Bamburi Forest Trails.

What a lovely place this is.

Cool and leafy, the old quarry excavations have left a terrain of man made ponds, hills and gullies, which has been reclaimed by nature to become lush and verdant forest, a perfect place for taking exercise and setting Hash trails.

As an alternative to the daily entrance fee, they offer a good value yearly subscription which you can take advantage of.

Anyway, the hare, R'Hole, had 'reccied' the whole place and set a trail which included short and long options, so that walkers and front runners alike were catered for.

The recalcitrant pack, how ever, went further and split into groups of short short, medium short, long short and long long, which went out to the airstrip. All returned to the lakeside watering hole with tales to tell, including sightings of a group of more than 20 elands, with a bull keeping a watchful eye on any Hashers who might take an unhealthy interest in his wives.

Also encountered were dik diks (that will become a hash name for someone !), monitor lizards and a plethora of ndeges and butterflies. 

Suitably refreshed and imbued with downdown inspired glow, the pack headed off, girded with strength to negotiate the matatu madness outside.
