AN 'AFRICAN EXPERIENCE' YOU
WON'T FIND IN TRAVEL GUIDES

"What ever those people had ..."

Coastweek - - Question: How do Hashers do it ? Answer: Hashers do it on the run !

Hash number 170, a slightly special run was held in Nyali.

A larger pack this time gathered at Nakumatt Nyali with RRRonan the Frenchie and two guest Nairobian hashers; W. F. Global Teaser.

Off course Kama Sutra's first instinct was to go shopping !

The Hare, Wet and Slippery with her Co-Hare eventually got the pack to form a circle at the back of Nakumatt and take up the scent.

Wet Hole and Eee-Jack-U'r-Late going off on a rather long false trail but managing to catch up.

The real trail went down a nicely carpeted road (Wonder whose house it leads to ?) and branched off, passing some handsome hamlets with lots of hounds who responded enthusiastically to the call of the Hash horn.

On On went the cry as the pack followed the trail through a walled off plot.

In the lead, W. F. was surprised to end up on a white sandy beach. Being a Nairobian and not used to such beauty spots, he had to taste the sea water.

The rest of the pack finally made it to the hold and oggled the locals enjoying a swim.

Now how to find white marks on a white sandy beach ?

Luckily the trail turned away from the beach and led the pack up Lovers' Lane behind Reef Hotel.

The blonde Hot Looong One recalling her past escapades here !

On On to the main Links Road and left towards Reef Hotel.

The Mzungu tourists having a quiet walk were startled to see the pack racing towards them blowing the Hash horn with Boda Boda cycles racing alongside.

An African experience you won't find in the travel guides.

False trails a plenty and Mzee Mouth happily went off on one, while the real trail led past Matatus dropping off teenagers intent on some Saturday fun.

Sand and sea again and W.F. was in heaven (these Nairobians really must be a deprived lot).

The second hold was on the beach by Yamas Bar.

Mzee Mouth did his "Numbers" dance and the rest tried to imitate, the GM R'Hole on number nine while everyone else was on six.

Yamas' customers could be heard asking for "whatever those people had".

No time for drinks it was a beach run back to the first hold and following the marks, now on the right, for the home run.

Down downs were held at Gecko Village where the Hare and Co-Hare were penalised for the economical use of the chalk and Coleti and Kalim were baptised T. T. and C. T. respectively.
