'HASHING' THROUGH NYALI
SUBURBS

trail led pack
through Kisumu Ndogo
Coastweek - - HASH RUN NO. 74
- The trail set by Dennis and ably assisted by an equally green
yours truly, meandered in the Nyali super suburbs.
Laying the trail was a challenge by itself, in the rain of
the early morning.
At one point a good citizen came rushing to find out what
insect life was under extermination by the marking dust, which
clearly looked like some sort of insecticide.
Beginning from the northwest the trail led the pack through
Kisumu Ndogo, the
facsimile of a rural setting, with all the stock-in-trade of
'Old MacDonald' of the nursery school rhyme.
By the time the pack crossed the Links Road, sweating and
swearing, the Hares realized what went wrong.
An improvised hole cooled the tempers and there was a good
'Singing in the Rain'.
The resident audience was clearly intrigued by the whole
opera with a rear exhaust backfire to boot.
|
The trail marks so profusely scattered had mixed with
other marks of doubtful colour and character leading at one
time to a hencoop.
Those that were intact although visible enough, were
clearly missed by everyone.
The most important ones were cleanly swept away by the
diligent gardeners tending to their masters' insides and
outsides. |

But yet, the obvious was still the obvious.
And homing instinct of a true blue hasher is never
wrong.
After the usual 'down downs', the oncoming Bagamoyo relay
event in Tanzania was discussed.
All the best wishes to the teams from Kenya for a good run in
Tanzania.
