AROUND THE RUN IN
TUDOR

through a well
tended war cemetery
Coastweek - - Run No. 76 The Hare Steve Ogwapit with co-hare Daphne aptly
named this a rounded hash.
It was as much a tongue twister as the trail itself.
Trust an architect to call a zigzag a round , and then take
it round the oldest suburb of this City.
Starting from Sea Princess, the namesake of the historical
house of Tudor was
revealed in all its lost glory, including the peeled off tar, paint and
finesse of this once decent neighbourhood reduced to a rubble and
laying bare the total incompetence of the city fathers of these last
15 years.
It winded its way through the back streets and the well
tended war cemetery.
The most interesting event of the run was the supposed hole
in the playground- complete with a dozen teams of school kids
practicing for a distant world cup.
|
Quite unconsciously the Hare wandered on to the grounds
hand in hand (and more !) with a lady hasher.
This was not taken kindly by the super elevens and
there followed a war cry from a hundred screaming,
screeching kids
pouring out on the hashers for an early run of the Bold and
the Beautiful. |

The next wet hole was at the Tudor Water Sports and the front runner of the
day, Maria ran on to the waterfront looking for a miraculous hole in
the water, commenting, "mboni, hi Tundah amna holi kama boli".
The finish was
ceremonious with the Grand Master , having come late,
surveyed a few meters on both the incoming and outgoing trails,
decided to sit down to a sumptuous pre dinner snack and wait for the
dizzy pack to arrive.
