MTWAPA HASH - THERE WERE MANY CHECK-BACKS
AND FALSE TRAILS ...
.
dust + sand
cocktail that is Mtwapa today
Coastweek - -Hash Run NO. 77was held in the musty Dstwapa, sorry, dusty MTWAPA on the
port side.
The hashers broke their moorings from The moorings and
began a long search treading the tones of the dust+sand cocktail
that Mtwapa is today.
At one point, even the Nguu Tatu rough road would have seemed
like a buttered tarmac in comparison.
The trail cleverly laid by the Hares Trevor and Fina was
tricky.
We were promised a flat, long hash.
But easy it was not.
There were many check-backs and false trails and as
abonus,
next-day-blisters !
Eric the teetotaler, almost successfully managed to
avoid the true trail that led to the nectar of the Gods where
there was an impromptu circle sampling the 24 hour old FRESH
brew.
If what my good lady called was sweet, we can actually have a
mini sugar factory in each home with at least one coconut tree
!
A real wet HOLD.
Thereon, the pack ran on to the lee of the creek, savouring
the magnificent mansions converging at the watering hole chosen for
its simplicity and friendliness and of course, cheap drinks.
The Mein Herr also obligingly allowed the pack the luxury of
post run snacks brought in from home as a going away gift to the
Grand Master.
May he miss his 'Tuskers' in 'the land of the
Tigers'.
