HASHERS ENJOY THE SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF SUNNY LIWATONI ...

And tasty samosas at Shs.2/= each !

.Coastweek - - The June end Hash run was held in the populated and  brown (as against verdant countryside) Liwatoni.

Hares were Marion and Athman. Base was the Nyali Nakumatt and the  trail followed the ancient, and in some places  doubtful railway line to the south of the island.

For the first time we saw the Railway-Line -Gardens, a sumptuous herbal growth on the tracks and the sleepers.

Mombasa still holds the crown for such singularly unique spots !

And tasty samosas at Shs.2/= each !

After a couple of kilometers the pack was surprisingly brought out to the Old Ferry Road via an unbelievable short cut to the first dry Hold.

The onlookers were treated to the "singing in the rain" and the pack was led east to the antique railway bridge , thereafter  passing on to  Moi Avenue.

From here, followed another check, successfully tackled by newcomer Jenny. Circling the sleepy Ganjoni suburbs, the trail led back to the Home Base.

The Circle was gracefully accommodated by the Books-First and went on to finish the rounding up rituals of noisy 'Down-Downs'.

Apologies to the other guests for any disturbance caused thereby and an invitation to join the Hash and be a part of the Noise.

The 100th run is being planned in earnest and a few names are floated as Sponsors.

Next RUN:  Mtwapa, July 7, 2004. Meet at HQ. Pub, near KCB, Mtwapa. For lifts from Nyali Nakumatt, contact 313713, or 0733-896150
