Run No. 119 - 12th March 2005 - Report

Old Town Bash

Black D. Murunga’s little surprises never end. Last Saturday Black D. – the hare of the day – forced us to run using Trail Maps instead of the usual Lime or Unga Marks. Damned were you if you never did your contours and Map-reading in your School Days!

The Mombasa Hash House Harriers are emerging from their summer hibernation (you see, we do everything different!). The past weeks' runs with fewer runners and more striders, were set in very picturesque locales with food and drink too, so much so, the temporary scribes never lost their hangovers.

The cap of the runs was the Old Town Bash, (not) set by the hare Wethole, still nostalgic about her hideout.

The pack dared the meandering lanes that hug the creek coast from the Fort Jesus all the way to the provincial hospital. The bewildered eyes of the Saturday afternoon residents relaxing on their seats   failed to properly classify them to grace any proper category of TOURIST.

Notwithstanding this, the group set out of the old town siesta dusts and off to refreshing ozone-laden sea breeze to the water front on Mama Ngina Drive (Kilindini Drive?)--- at least until the bigwigs sort out their christening feuds. How about digging up some more names from those who have messed up with this town in the past 20 years and not yet on some street name plates to give it a more local flair?

The meet back at the Treasury Square on time for the lowering of the National Flag, led on to the next week's Hash.
